Another tutorial!
Meego:This guide is based on N900, but will work for all other omap devices with slight tweaks.
1: Download Meego: http://wiki.meego.com/n900 :
1.5: Take your UNFORMATTED SDcard (higher the class, the better).
2: Place it into your computer (Linux or osX is best) and do this:
3: [Linux Commands] sudo dd bs=4096 if=<raw_image> of=/dev/sdX (AHHH! Looks weird! What is it! KILL IT!)
I'll break it down a little:
Sudo = Super User (The Boss!)
4096 = 4GB SD Card. 1GB = 1024. I
f you have an 8GB it won't be hard to work it out.
<raw_image> is where you write the file name (remove the <>).
/dev/sdX is the SD card. It will not be X (unless you have lots of devices).
The easiest way to see what device the SD is, open gparted and have a look.
If you have limited hdd space use: bzcat <raw_image>.bz2 | sudo dd bs=4096 of=/dev/sdX
Meego is now extracted and 2 partitions have been created and it will now boot! You can't get simpler than that!
Now to get the OS to run on N900:xTerm:
sudo apt-get install u-boot
Restart your phone with the keyboard open (slide up).
Meego Type: run mmcboot
Maemo Type: run noloboot
Go Team!
